Review: Obsidian (Lux #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Summary-
Starting over sucks.
When we moved to West Virginia right before my senior year, I’d pretty much resigned myself to thick accents, dodgy internet access, and a whole lot of boring…. until I spotted my hot neighbor, with his looming height and eerie green eyes. Things were looking up.
And then he opened his mouth.
Daemon is infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. We do not get along. At all. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, well, something…unexpected happens.
The hot alien living next door marks me.
You heard me. Alien. Turns out Daemon and his sister have a galaxy of enemies wanting to steal their abilities, and Daemon’s touch has me lit up like the Vegas Strip. The only way I’m getting out of this alive is by sticking close to Daemon until my alien mojo fades.
If I don’t kill him first, that is.

Review-
So Jennifer L. Armentrout......Yeah PURE GENIUS! The way she writes is like nothing I have ever experienced before. She has this way of pulling you into the book. She made me feel the emotions of the characters. Obsidian was mind blowing. and then to find out she said it took what like 8 days to write it? Are you freaking kidding me!?! Jennifer Armentrout was in my top 10 favorite authors list but after reading Obsidian she trumps everyone. She is my all time favorite. I was weary about reading an alien book but let me tell you i met an alien like Daemon....yeah he would be all mine! jerk or not hes HOT! Katy is an AWESOME main character. Always had a smart ass comeback for Daemon! I loved Dee! So bubbly and full of life! I am super stoked for the next book! I don't think I can wait that long to get it!!!! OMG HOW AM I GOING TO LIVE UNTIL MAY!!!! OH and Jennifer Armentrout you are totally and kick butt writer!! PLEASE KEEP THEM COMING!!!!

  2. For readers considering picking up this book - your mileage may vary with Daemon. If you are a huge fan of bad boys (I am not), you might find his personality appealing. And the plagiarism thing only really applies if you've read the books this one pulls ideas from. So don't take the negative in this review as my saying this book sucked. It didn't. I read it all in one sitting. Ms. Armentrout knows how to write action. Her stories pull you in and keep you interested. It's definitely a worth read if you are looking for a break from the standard paranormal fare.
