Review: Drink, Slay, Love by Sarah Beth Durst

Summary-
Pearl is a sixteen-year-old vampire... fond of blood, allergic to sunlight, and mostly evil... until the night a sparkly unicorn stabs her through the heart with his horn. Oops.

Her family thinks she was attacked by a vampire hunter (because, obviously, unicorns don't exist), and they're shocked she survived. They're even more shocked when Pearl discovers she can now withstand the sun. But they quickly find a way to make use of her new talent. The Vampire King of New England has chosen Pearl's family to host his feast. If Pearl enrolls in high school, she can make lots of human friends and lure them to the King's feast -- as the entrees.
The only problem? Pearl's starting to feel the twinges of a conscience. How can she serve up her new friends—especially the cute guy who makes her fangs ache—to be slaughtered? Then again, she's definitely dead if she lets down her family. What's a sunlight-loving vamp to do?

Review-
This book is a Great story! Its one of those books that i think about even after i put it down and not to many do that to me. The storyline is awesome. At first i thought "What? A unicorn? Were-unicorns? Really?" But it works well in this book. Its the newest thing next to Werewolves. I can see this happening. The storyline gets dark at times but hey its vampires.
Pearl is a strong young girl who must defy everything she knows to become part of a world that doesn't know anything about vampires. Evan is a strong male character. I wish there had been more romance in the book between Pearl and Evan. But it leaves the door open in the next book.

Its an easy and fun read and I had a hard time putting it down to get anything else done. I recommend this book for anyone looking for a fresh vampire story or Just a fun read. Its well worth your time.
